The Doghouse

We have a project in «bransjelære» which is one of our class. We started to go in groups with 4-6 persons in each group. After the groups were clear, we started to draw the doghouse from 4 different positions. We came up with many ideas, but in the end we started to came up with a picture with a finished doghouse. After the drawing was finished and the teachers agree our ideas, we started to build the doghouse in practice. We started with the floor, and build up to the top of the doghouse.

In the length the doghouse was 2.5 meter, the wide was 1 meter and it was 1.5 meter high. So we used material which was long enough to the length, the wide and high enough. We make the doghouse very strong, so it don't need to smash down in the winter when the snow came flying down from the sky. For the roof we used clapboards and a special material, its effective and its nice looking. The most important tool you have to use when you should build a doghouse is electric saw/hand saw, hammer, nails, drill, yardsticks and screws.

When we was finished it was one more thing to do, we gave the doghouse to the painters here at school, and they painted our house in the color blue. When it was finished it looked amazing. We sold it to a happy man.

The Eskimo's

"Eskimo" is an American Indian word which means "eaters of raw meat."
The Eskimos came from Asia in a land bridge (this place does not exist today) into northern North America which is called Alaska now. Eventually they came to live in four countries:

The Soviet Union, The United States (Alaska), Canada and Greenland.

FOOD: The most important part of their diet was seal. They also oat salmon, cod, whales, and other animals which live in the sea. In the winter they hunted polar bears, foxes, and hares. Their favorite foods were seal and caribou meat, walrus liver, and the skin of whales.

CLOTHING: Eskimo's used the skin of the animals for clothing; their favorite was caribou because it was warm and lightweight. Styles was different from one place to the other, but in all the regions everyone wore the same combination: a hooded jacket, trousers or leggings, socks, boots, and mittens.

Eskimos lived in groups of different families; they could be as many as 100 people who lived together. Usually a Eskimo family would be a husband and wife, unmarried children, and married sons with their wifes and children.

The man's role was to hunt food, drive the dog sled, row the boat, and build shelters. A wife's most important job was to make the family's clothing, being sure it was warm and windproof. She also looked after the children, cooked for her family, and sometimes even helped her husband with his task.

The USA

The American dream

A nice modern example for The American dream is Arnold. Arnold wanted to be the best in some way and he went to America when he was 21 years old. He had a dream to be the strongest man and a great body-builder
His dream came true, he had became Mr. Universe the best built man, but first of all he worked hard for this for 5 years. One important thing about The American dram is not to fail, it is very important to be a winner and not a loser. Arnold holds the record as Mr. Olympia. He won six times and he was definitely a winner.

Arnold wanted to be big in another way, he wanted to have people who wanted to hear what he had to say. He also wanted to be a American, he knew that America was a wonderful place. When he went to America as a 21-years old man, he started to study business and later being a business man. He thought that real estate was the best way to earn money. He owned apartment buildings, office buildings and land. This man was in control all the way, and today he is a governor in California and this is the American dream.

The are many people who want to make the big American dream. The American dream goes like this, people dream about being the best in some way. If people have a bad economy and want to earn some seriously money, they move to America and start real business.

The United States wanted to get people to move to America, so they gave people who moved to America free land and the name of this is the Homestead Act. This started around the 1860s and was biggest in 1910. All together 1,2 million people came to America to make a better life, in the 1930s there weren't so many people who came to America because the was the Great Depression. The American dream is going on until this day. The American dream excist in this days, but in 1930s it collapse because The Great Depression.

The Great Depression

The great depression was a huge economic downturn which was starting in many places in 1929 and was ending at different times around 1930s and even early in the 1940s for some countries. The great depression was the biggest and most important economic depression in the history. This is a very famous example to prove how far the economy can fall. The black Tuesday is often used as a starting date for the market crash on October 29, 1929.

Many people lost their life's in The Great Depression, that is because they haven't got money for food. The economy was so bad, the people lost their jobs and couldn't pay their rents and then the banks took their houses. It was not just rammed in the United States, but also in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Latin America, Netherlands, South Africa, Soviet Union, United Kingdom and as I told in United States.

On the picture can you see desperate people who wanted a free cup of coffee and a donut, because they don't have money to pay this on their own.

This Great Depression ended in 1933.

Analyze of Mice And Men

Mice and men was written by John Steinbeck. The play is from The Great Depression.
Plot

Mice and Men is set in California in in the 1930s. Mice and Men is a novel which was published in 1939. It tells a tragic story about two men with name Lennie small and George Milton. This is two hard workers who does anything to earn some money. This is in The Great Depression and maybe you know that it was very difficult to find a job in those days. George Milton is a intelligent man who had ambitions of being rich. Lennie was a huge man and a good worker, but he very stupid. This two men and a man they met on the job had a dream about moving to a big farm with many animals and a nice garden.
This dream was going to hell when Lennie with a accident kills the young woman of Curley, while he was trying to stroke her hair. George realized that they dream was ruined. He wanted to spare Lennie for a painful death of Curley, so he George shot Lennie in the back of the head before they other could find him.
Characters
Lennie Small: He was a big strong man, he was a little bit of retarded. He was traveling with George, and had a dream to move to a farm and buy many rabbits. In the start of the story I see Lennie as a good worker, little bit of stupid, he was alive in the start, a strong man, very loyal and friendly. In the end, he is still a good worker, still stupid, but not alive, but dead, still strong, he wasn't loyal all the time, because when George told him to let the dog stay outside the house, he didn't listen to him.

George Milton: He was a man who was traveling with Lennie, he had a dream about a better life.

Fat people

When you hear of plastic surgery, what do you think of? A Hollywood star trying to look great? People who want to change the size of their stomachs, breasts, or other body parts because they see it done so easily on TV?
Those are common images of plastic surgery, but what about the 4-year-old boy who has his chin rebuilt after a dog bit him? Or the young woman who has the birthmark on her forehead lightened with a laser?

What Is Plastic Surgery?
Just because the name includes the word "plastic" doesn't mean patients who have this surgery end up with a face full of fake stuff. The name isn't taken from the synthetic substance but from the Greek word plastikos, which means to form or mold (and which gives the material plastic its name as well).

Why Do Teens Get Plastic Surgery?
Most teens don't, of course. But some do. Interestingly, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reports a difference in the reasons teens give for having plastic surgery and the reasons adults do: Teens view plastic surgery as a way to fit in and look acceptable to friends and peers. Adults, on the other hand, frequently see plastic surgery as a way to stand out from the crowd.
